Dear Member,
|
This year Scintilla turned 54.
In the past 54 years, many things have happened.
Some things are long forgotten, while others are still
an important part of Scintilla's DNA.
An especially important event on the 12th of December in the year 1969
marked the official recognition of Scintilla.
It was on this day that our late Queen Juliana
officially acknowledged Scintilla's association status.
Since then, the members of Scintilla
have expressed their appreciation to the
Queen. The most recognisable of which:
our the toast: "Op de koningin, op Scintilla!"
and the association song 'Het Juliana'.
The year of 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of this notable event.
As such, we cannot let this moment go by unnoticed.
In fact, a big celebration will be held to ensure
that this royal recognition is not forgotten.
You are cordially invited to be part of this collective memory.
The festivities will take place in the exclusive Faculty Club,
historically the high-class dinner establishment of the University,
which will open its doors on the 12th of December at 18:00.
Together with current and old(er) Scintilla members we will recall
the best memories from Scintilla's history over an exquisite dinner.
After dinner, there will be an opportunity to explore the possibilities
of the open bar whilst enjoying live music.
If you wish to explore more of Scintilla's history,
there is the opportunity to explore the pop-up museum
displaying some of Scintilla's historic items.
As with all Scintilla events,
registration can be done on the website.
The costs for this event, including dinner, open bar and
a night full of entertainment are €35.
If you are not able to attend the dinner, there is still a possibility
to attend the rest of the festivities from 20:00 for a reduced price of €20.
Seeing to the formal character of this event,
it is required to dress appropriately.
Kind regards,
The festivity organisers
